The site

A public footpath close to Rickmansworth town centre.

The brief

To upgrade path surface and widen usable area.

The solution

We excavated the ground and created a bund with the arisings.  The entire path was edged using pressure treated softwood boards and secured with externally fixed pressure treated softwood pegs.  A geotextile membrane was laid.  The path was made of crushed concrete sub-base with a concrete dust top dressing and compacted with vibrating roller as per Hertfordshire County Council's specification.

The result

The widely used footpath is now safe and level.
