Laying of recycled aggregates: crushed concrete

Crushed concrete is a commonly used surface for paths and yards as well as being used as a sub-base in conjunction with other types of aggregate. A recycled aggregate, given it's name because it has been graded through a crusher.

Typically used as a type 1 (50mm diameter) or type 2 (100mm diameter) but can also be used as 'oversized' crush, more commonly known as 'hardcore'.

When surfacing paths we top dress the crushed concrete with concrete fines or concrete dust, a perfect medium for footpaths or bridleways.
